RCLL - Instructor Opportunities
A great teaching opportunity is available and we hope you will consider it.
We want YOU!
The Rollins Center for Lifelong Learning (RCLL) is looking to hire instructors. Submissions are due in November for the spring, March for the summer, and June for the fall!
Classes typically meet once a week for 4 weeks and are 90 minutes long. Some meet once a week for three weeks and are 2 hours long. Spring classes are in February, March, and April. Fall classes are in September, October and November. Summer courses are in May, June, & July. We offer classes in the morning, afternoon, and evenings.
Majority of classes are housed in the Hamilton Holt School located next to the SunTrust parking garage on Lyman and Knowles. We are flexible on locations and would also like individuals who are interested to let me know if they want to teach at a local retirement center or our neighboring town of Eatonville.
YOU get to be the expert and YOU get to pick the topic. UCF has a similar program with a 3 year wait list! The demand is huge. Our goal for the first year was 125 students and we had over 1000! This population wants to stay active, engaged, learn new things, and meet new people. They get to become ‘seniors’ in college!
Our RCLL classes have no tests/finals. Our students pay $60 to take a course. The requirement to be an RCLL student is to be age 50 or older (we take them young). Classes are capped to 35 students and a minimum of 5 students.
We are able to provide a modest stipend of $200 to the instructor, free parking, and endless self-fulfillment. Instructors are also allowed to take one free RCLL course a year.
